Tell us about yourself!

Hi! My name is Megan. I’m a gluten-free blogger that lives in Chicago. I started blogging back in 2010 as a way to learn to cook and share recipes with my friends and family. After being diagnosed with Celiac disease in 2013, I found my true calling and began converting all of my recipes to be gluten-free! I love sharing gluten-free recipes with my followers to show them that gluten-free can be delicious and it doesn’t have to be stressful either.

Share your approach to food with us: what do you like to cook? Why?

I show my love through food. Bringing my family, friends and coworkers food is my favorite. I meet someone and then I bring them cookies or a cheesecake or something. It’s just what I do.

I love entertaining for the same reason. I just get so much joy out of watching people eat and enjoy something I made. Especially if I can show them that gluten-free is way tastier than they ever thought it could be!

My go to for easy gluten free entertaining is a big cheese and charcuterie platter. It’s always an impressive appetizer to bring along to a party and so delicious!

Giant Gluten Free Vegan Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tart

Who doesn’t love a pop tart? Especially when it’s giant sized! This recipe is just like the classic from your childhood except it doesn’t contain any of the gluten, dairy, or eggs. Trust me, you won’t miss them!

Blackened Cod with Avocado Corn Salsa

This is one of my favorite recipes for entertaining, especially during the Spring and Summer. It’s so simple and fresh. Plus, it’s ready in 20 minutes so if you have some last minute guests it’s perfect!  Find the recipe here. 

Gluten Free Blueberry Mini Tarts

I just think these little tarts are the cutest thing ever. They’re basically a sugar cookie cup with a blueberry filling and they’re so tasty. I make these a lot during the warmer months for parties and potlucks. They’re so portable and easy to make. Find the recipe here.

Everyone needs a chocolate cake in their repertoire. When I was making wedding cakes back in the day this was my go-to chocolate cake recipe. I’ve since converted it to be gluten free and let me tell you it does not disappoint. This cake gets requested all the time by my family and friends!  Find the recipe here.

What food can you not live without?

Tacos! Seriously I could eat them every day.

What kitchen appliance do you swear by?

I love my food processor. It makes making pie crust so much easier, shreds a block of cheese in seconds, and I can whip up a batch of pesto in no time. It gets used on the daily in my house.

[I have this Cuisinart Food Processor that’s only $40 and it’s awesome. For pestos, butters, etc. I find it to be far better than the Vitamix.]

  • I absolutely adore Erica from @celiacandthebeast – she tells it like it is and we have the same type of sense of humor.

Don’t underestimate the power of fresh herbs. They can completely transform a dish!
