Tell us about yourself!
I’m Kaleigh McMordie, and I’m a registered dietitian, wife, mom, and recipe creator at my blog, Lively Table. I live in Lubbock, TX and work from home, trying to balance the business of blogging and taking care of a baby full-time! I’m so fortunate to be able to do what I love every day.
Share your approach to food with us: what do you like to cook? Why?
My approach to food and nutrition is simple – eat what makes you feel good! I am all about using real ingredients and cooking with whole foods as much as possible, but not to the point of stressing about it. I believe that we should honor our bodies’ cravings and that there is room for all food in a healthy diet. At the end of the day, food should be nourishing, simple, joyful, and tasty.
I love making simple dishes where fresh ingredients can really shine, but I enjoy cooking all kinds of things.

What are your favorite recipes? Why? Tell us about them!
This is one of the first recipes I ever developed, when I was in high school and still living with my parents. I still love them and make them on a regular basis! Find the recipe here.
This is one of my family’s favorite go-to weeknight dinners. It’s so delicious – light yet filling – especially when made into a Greek bowl! Find the recipe here.

What’s your favorite thing about Want the Recipe?
I love that you make it easy to keep track of recipes in one place! It’s so easy to get inspired by something you see, then forget what it was or where you saw it.
What food can you not live without?
Probably eggs. I usually eat them in some form at least once a day.
What kitchen appliance do you swear by?
A good, sharp chef’s knife. You can do so much with one good knife.

Oh my gosh, where to even start? I love the photography on bromabakery. briewilly constantly makes me giggle with his food puns next to photos of drool-worthy food. amandafrederickson and themodernproper always leave me inspired.
Do you have any advice for our food community?
Food doesn’t have to be complicated! Ditch all the food rules, and tune into what your body is telling you it wants and needs. Let that be your guide in the kitchen. That, and always buy the best quality, freshest ingredients you can find/afford. It makes such a huge difference!
